He hasn't paid her back, but she thinks he will. It turns out that her ex, Kurt, had gotten arrested for urinating on a police car while drunk, and Penny paid his expenses. Leonard helps look over her budget, and notices $1,800 to the superior court. Penny is down because her acting career hasn't gone as planned. Leonard explains to Penny that Sheldon REALLY doesn't care when he gets the money back it's one of his few idiosycrancies that doesn't make you want to kill him.
Leonard tries to return her $14 but Penny tells him to put it in his pocket or she'll find another place to put it. He examines the flow chart again, and concludes "they're was the only option". Sheldon isn't prepared to accept a Slurpee in place of an Icee. Raj points out that there is a 7-11 near one of the theatres previously excluded, and if they sneak in Slurpees from 7-11, there are 3 restaurants in proximity to the theatre. Raj suggests eating after the movie, which is rejected because this will throw off his bathroom schedule. Another theatre is rejected by Sheldon because they have Twizzlers instead of Red Vines. It turns out they are trying to plan to go to dinner and a movie.and they can't find a Sheldon-approved theatre within reasonable distance of a Sheldon-approved restaurant. Sheldon eliminates two of the theatres because they have no Icee machine. Sheldon thinks the problem is unsolvable. We see the gang intensly studing a flow chart on Sheldon's white board.
